Tamara Laptoš is the former head of the Croatian Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organised Crime (USKOK in Croatia), a position she held from 2014 to 16 November 2018. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2014 Laptoš was the deputy head of USKOK, and in 2011 she received a Prosecutor of the Year award from the International Association of Prosecutors for her work on high-level corruption cases. From 2018 to 2020 she was the Deputy General Prosecutor in the State Attorney’s Office of the Republic of Croatia.

In July 2020, Tamara Laptoš was appointed by the European Council as the European Prosecutor in the recently created European Public Prosecutor Office (EPPO), EU Regulation (EU) 2017/1939.
