A very good cooperation between EPPO and DORH confirmed

A meeting between the European Chief Prosecutor, Laura Kövesi, and the State Attorney General of the Republic of Croatia, Zlata Hrvoj-Šipek, was held yesterday, 3 November 2022, at the State Attorney's Office of the Republic of Croatia (DORH) as part of the visit of the European Chief Prosecutor to the Republic of Croatia and Croatian state authorities. After having taken stock of the excellent cooperation so far, both parties discussed ways to further develop EPPO’s potential with regard to the protection of the financial interests of the European Union in Croatia.

European Chief Prosecutor and State Attorney General

The European Chief Prosecutor, Laura Kövesi, and European Prosecutor Tamara Laptoš, were received by the State Attorney General, Zlata Hrvoj-Šipek, together with First Deputy State Attorney General Ksenija Pavić, Head of Criminal Department Darko Klier and Head of USKOK Vanja Marušić. In an open and friendly atmosphere, they discussed the results achieved so far and the way forward.

The European Chief Prosecutor thanked the Croatian hosts for the excellent cooperation so far, which is yielding very good operational results. Together with State Attorney General of the Republic of Croatia, they explored further areas for improvement and agreed on a coordinated approach in deepening their cooperation.

This will include training for young prosecutors for work on EPPO cases, but also consistent communication towards the budgetary authority on the necessary investment in additional human resources. Both Offices have the same assignment: to prosecute perpetrators of criminal offences.
