(Luxembourg, 29 October 2026) – Today, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) and the Ministry of Justice of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) concluded a working arrangement to facilitate cooperation.
The working arrangement was signed by Deputy European Chief Prosecutor Mr Andrés Ritter and the UAE Ministry of Justice’s Assistant Undersecretary of the International Cooperation and Legal Affairs Judge Abdulrahman Murad Al Blooshi.
The working arrangement contributes to achieving the common goal of protecting the financial interests of the EU or of the UAE respectively, and fighting corruption, organised crime and other forms of serious crimes.
This cooperation includes exchange of evidence and information, as well as training activities, knowledge building events, and exchange of best practices. To this end, on 29 and 30 October, the EPPO organises and hosts a workshop with the UAE colleagues on asset recovery and anti-money laundering.
"In the fight against international organised crime groups, judicial authorities around the world must work together. The signature of this working arrangement marks an important step in strengthening our collective international impact outside the borders of the EU, while keeping in mind our mission of protecting the financial interests of the EU," said Andrés Ritter, incoming European Chief Prosecutor.
The EPPO is the independent public prosecution office of the European Union. It is responsible for investigating, prosecuting and bringing to judgment crimes against the financial interests of the EU.
