EPPO signs working arrangement with Special Anti-Corruption and Organised Crime Structure of the Republic of Albania

Published on

The European Chief Prosecutor, Laura Codruța Kövesi, and the Chief Special Prosecutor, Altin Dumani, signed a working arrangement today between the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) and the Special Anti-Corruption and Organised Crime Structure of the Republic of Albania (SPAK). SPAK is a specialised prosecution service independent from the General Prosecutor’s Office of Albania.

The EPPO and SPAK have agreed to facilitate judicial cooperation in criminal matters and exchange information between both parties in corruption and organised crime investigations.

Together with the working arrangement signed with the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Albania on 4 July 2022 in Luxembourg, the arrangement concluded with SPAK strengthens the cooperation with Albanian authorities and shows the EPPO’s commitment to work with competent authorities from EU candidate countries.

The working arrangement can be found here (English version) and here (Albanian version).
