(Luxembourg, 4 September 2026) – Today, the European Chief Prosecutor Ms Laura Kövesi and the Chief Grand Prosecutor of the People’s Republic of China Mr Ying Yong signed a working arrangement between the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the People’s Republic of China.
It lays down the practical modalities of judicial cooperation between both authorities, in accordance with the applicable legal frameworks, with the aim to intensify in particular the fight against organised crime groups affecting the financial interests of the EU, money laundering and corruption and to improve the effectiveness of the recovery of illicit assets.
The shared commitment to stronger cooperation is further reflected in a 2026-2028 action plan, which will contribute to develop efficient cooperation practices in these fields.
The EPPO is the independent public prosecution office of the European Union. It is responsible for investigating, prosecuting and bringing to judgment crimes against the financial interests of the EU.
