At the request of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in Turin (Italy), eight suspects have been placed today in pre-trial detention and three under house arrest, in an investigation targeting an organised crime group suspected of large-scale VAT fraud in the trade of plastics products.

An individual was convicted of misappropriating EU funds granted to a cooperative for unemployed people, following an indictment by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in Madrid (Spain).

On behalf of the EPPO in Naples (Italy), the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Italian Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza) in Salerno carried out searches and seizures today in an investigation into suspected fraud involving fictitious employee training courses.
