Philippe Jaeglé joined the French judiciary in 2000, serving as an investigating judge or public prosecutor in several courts. In 2013, he moved to the division specialising in organised crime and complex economic crime at the Interregional Prosecution Office of Bordeaux. Six years later, he took over as Head of the Office for Mutual Legal Assistance in criminal matters at the French Ministry of Justice, where he supported operational cooperation between French judicial authorities and their international partners.
In 2022, he became Deputy Head of the National Financial Prosecution Office (Parquet National Financier, PNF) in Paris, where he handled and supervised the investigation and prosecution of complex cases involving breaches of probity, aggravated tax fraud, financial market offences, and anti-competitive practices.
In June 2026, he was appointed as European Prosecutor from France by the Council of the EU.
