Gedgaudas Norkūnas was formerly a European Delegated Prosecutor of the EPPO, and coordinator of the EPPO’s Vilnius office.

He started his professional career in 1993, first as Assistant Prosecutor, and later as Prosecutor, at different levels of the Lithuanian National Prosecution Service.

Between 2003 and 2021, he performed the duties of Prosecutor of the Organised Crime and Corruption Investigation Division at Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office and also at the Prosecutor General’s Office; between 2011 and 2012, he carried out duties of Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office; from 2012 to 2021, he worked in the position of the Eurojust National Correspondent for Terrorism Matters; in 2019, by the Prosecutor General’s decision, he was appointed as the Special Prosecutor for corruption cases.

In June 2023, Norkūnas was appointed European Prosecutor for Lithuania by the Council of the EU.
