Description
The EPPO is seeking expert investigators of financial crimes, ideally specialised in digital forensic analysis, employed in the EU Member States’ judicial and investigative national, regional or local public administration, available to be seconded to the EPPO for fixed-term secondments under the status of Seconded National Experts (SNE).
The selected candidates, under the authority of the European Chief Prosecutor, in accordance with Article 98 of the EPPO Regulation, will be responsible for:
• Performing digital forensic analysis of exhibits acquired at national level (computer, mobile phone, hard-drive forensic images, mobile phone acquisitions, isolated artefacts such as emails, documents, etc.).
• Providing to European Prosecutors, European Delegated Prosecutors and Case Support Officers with the results of forensic analysis while facilitating their data reviewing.
• Drafting forensic analysis reports whose content will be used in court of law or other formal proceedings and in which it will be necessary to comply with the organisational policies or jurisdictional court rules.
• In some case, testifying in Court as a digital forensic examiner to describe protocols, findings and provide an opinion on evidence.
• Delivering training and awareness sessions related to digital forensic towards European Prosecutors, European Delegated Prosecutors and Case Support Officers.
• Drafting recommendations for improvements to policies, guidelines, procedures, tools, and other aspects of the forensic process.
• Undertaking other tasks assigned by the European Chief Prosecutor or by their designated supervisor.
