European Prosecutor

Miranda De Meijer worked as prosecutor for the Dutch Public Prosecution Service since 2004, most recently as Senior High Prosecutor, where she specialised in anti-corruption, fraud and complex and sensitive legal matters. Prior to that, she worked as a criminal defence lawyer. She also worked as a professor, from 2014, at the Law Faculty of the University of Amsterdam, with a focus on the position of the Dutch Public Prosecution Service within the constitutional state, ethics and integrity, and international subversive organised crime.
She has published extensively and gives, on a regular basis, numerous national and international lectures and courses for different organisations on different legal topics. She has also participated in several international and European missions.
In September 2023, she was appointed European Prosecutor from the Netherlands by the Council of the EU; her term started on 1 November 2023.
